Sales

Into February now and the sales are still running. This camera shop has just started a winter sale, and there do seem to be some genuine bargains
- this TZ1 is even cheaper than Amazon's price. It looks like a great camera - amazing zoom for such a small body - does anyone know how well it performs?

Thanks for visiting my site. I haven't tried the praline spread yet but I will have to now. :-)

I have used Canon, Hp and Pentax.
Pentax stopped working, when I carried it in my bag 10 minutes in
-3 degrees Celsius. The guarantee does not pay it, they are saying, it`s moisture damage.
My advise is, keep asking, how camera
can bear a cold and rainy day.Pentax Optio A 10 was totally broken after that and I was 345 euro poorer, the price was that.
I am now spending wonderful time with my granddaughters.
Greetings to your daughter!
And thank you for your comment on my site.fgnqtref

Thanks Mimmu, good advice. Belfast isn't particularly cold but it is so damp - most of the year round!
Have a lovely time with your girls!

I'm also shopping for a new camera (mine Kodak should be in a museum by now- only 2.2MP!). Good luck and please let me know what you've decided.

Funny you should post this today. I just bought a panasonic this afternoon. The DMC-FZ50. I am will be fidling with it for a while to figure out all the bells and whistles on it. But it also has an automatic feature for idiots,so I can use it like a point and shoot, while I am learning the other features. Untill now I have been using a simple Canon SureShot A610 with good results. But I have got to the point where I want more zoom power and hight resolution.

Hey there :) I just discovered your blog; looking forward to more pics :)

That price is pretty good for local shop... any hints which one?

You can get it a little cheaper here (found with froogle):

but delivery would probably push it over that :/

Hi Belfast, I'm using the Panasonic FZ7 and pictures taken with it can be seen on my Villigen blog. I considered the TZ1, but decided to go with the FZ7 instead. The FZ50 which susan before me mentioned was also interesting, but is much too big for me to take everywhere with me. I'm happy with my choice and my only real gripe is about the LCD display -- really lousy resolution. But in a pinch, one can use the EVF.

Thank you all for your comments and advice. I decided to go ahead as the camera was at such a good price and I really wanted something portable with a good zoom (I have a fabulous Sony H2 with a terrific zoom, but its a bit to big to throw in my handbag) that I can carry with me all the time.

Oh, and by the way Fallible, the shop is LIZARS. This is fairly small photographic chain operating in Scotland and Northern Ireland. Their website is at http://www.blackandlizars.com/index.php and they are offering the TZ1 at £150 online, so well worth a look.

It's crazy to find this post to see how much the TZ1 cost back in the day. Saying that, it was definitely worth it. I still use this camera today. I would guess you don't, though, with the advancement of smartphones and how convenient they are. Anyway, I know you stopped updating this blog years ago but hope all is well.
