chopper

I saw this new Chopper at a local park and it took me right back to the early 70s - when Choppers were the coolest bike to have. (Sadly, my mum didn't think Choppers were safe so I wasn't allowed to get one - I had to make do with a Raleigh 20. I wasn't allowed clackers either...)

It's a shame that modern Health and Safety regulations mean that the 'modern' chopper can't be the same as the 1970s version.

No one piece seat. No 3 speed gear shift betwixt your thighs. Decent brakes.

Takes the fun right out of it....

Yeah I had to have a Raleigh 20. And it was a second hand one! Probably scarred me emotionally:-)

That is a seriously goofy-looking bike. I could definitely see how one would believe it to be a "must have" when you're a kid!

It is a lovely bike isn't it (even without the original gears). I'd still love one, but I think a 40 year old woman on a chopper would look just too tragic for words!)
