This very faded old shop sign is painted at the back of a shop on the Cregagh Road. I've seen a few of these old signs in the brickwork of older buildings around this area - I'm not sure exactly when they date from, but they're a nice reminder of the past.

Also, I read the newletter and it's a hoot. I assume this is one of those tongue-in-cheek publications like The Onion, esp. the story about the girl who received money from the school/church for being pregnant. :-)

Ming - David Ford is a sweetie apparently, but he just isn't pretty.. We actually have another leading local politician who bears a spooky resemblance to Mr Burns from the Simpsons - see http://images.google.co.uk/images?hl=en&q=reg%20empey%20&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&um=1&sa=N&tab=wi - must be something in the water.
The Portadown News (now sadly defunct) was our best/only local satirical website, renowned for mercilessly satirising politicians from all parts of the local community.
Hi there. I found your sign. The one in my photo on selmaala.blogspot.com (Selma, Ala. Daily Photo) is also painted on brickwork. I think they are lovely even if they have faded. Thanks for directing me here.
