Oh dear. You aren't alone in your suffering - my small niece is horrified that the giant garlic bulb hasn't made an appearance this year (you can still buy garlic bread, but it just doesn't taste the same when sold from a garden shed). Oh well, you can still buy proper French macaroons for £2.50(!!!) each. I think it might be cheaper just to fly over on easyjet for the weekend and stock up on your food shopping...
I love these continental Christmas markets. I was out in George Square earlier this week and it looked like they were gearing up for one there too, but it wasn't open yet.

That's very kind of you, MLL, and I may well take you up on that offer - but with the way the post is at present I dread to think what the strong cheeses would be like by the time they arrived here.
You could also think of going into the mail order business - there is a large market for French produce.
p.s. our local supermarkets are getting much better at providing other than british fare, so we are not suffering too badly. I think I did a post about making tartiflette with reblochon purchased in Tesco. Must do it again, there is a stall in the continental market selling tartiflette but it is fairly dry and I don't see or taste much cheese in it. Perhaps I should set up in competition (c:~
Has opened again in the City Hall Grounds. We visited it tonight and it was great to see Belfast City Centre full of families on a Saturday night.

These little Christmas markets are so nice--so colorful, too. There is one at Grand Central Station and it is filled with unusual goodies.
