Tragic Life Stories....

Further to my earlier post, I noticed today that WH Smith have also devoted a whole section to tragic life stories. Very odd.

Strange ... I don't see Wandering Scribe’s book there.

Very bizarre...Why can't they just shelve them under "biographies"...

Ver odd indeed! I love biographies but often can't cope with the sad ones. Life is too short for that unless it's beautifully written like Angela's Ashes, for instance.

What, not two dozen Princess Diana books?

Do they have a "They Laughed In The face of Danger" shelf? or a "Happy Ending Guaranteed, No Incidents of Abuse or Violation shelf?

Who knows, maybe come Saturday, Harry Pottr will have to be placed on this shelf?

Very, very strange!

Thanks for visiting & for your comments.

Dr A, I guess Wandering Scribe has sold out already! My blogger clock is out? Gaaah! Pedantic just about covers it!

Well spotted Lilly, I hadn't notice that. (Good to know that misery can be delivered..)

Sally, rest assured the Princess Diana books were just round the corner (stacks of em!). I love your shelf suggestions - inspired!

So many tragic life stories, but in many cases there is triumph of a sort getting through. Whenever I visit Belfast I hear tragic stories, NYC is filled with them too... but to make them "bookworthy" they might need some extra drama I suppose.

Interesting reading section-- good for those who have experienced great pain --to see that others have coped or at least that we are never alone no matter what happens to us. all connected after all.

The real question is just how tragic does your life have to be to qualify for the tragic life stories section? Where's the line between so-so tragic and 'OMG separate section!tragic'? Who makes that call?
