The DVLA are really cracking down on unlicenced vehicles at the moment, and we came across this today - an unlicenced car that had been clamped, and now was being impounded. I guess the owner is going to get a nasty shock when they go to look for it.

It's probably more effective and economical than fines but it does look very dramatic.

Crikey,
How devastating is that.
It will probably cost a bomb to retreive that car from the authorities.
At least the sun is shining and Spring appears to be upon you.
Greetings from sunny South Australia, Monsieur.
whao! is there a grace period before the drastic action? perhaps the owner forgotten to renew ....
so glad i dont drive anymore , no need to remind me of the expiry date!
I think this is a last course of action - apparently cars are immobilized and fines issued before this happens. Seeing this happen has certainly reminded me to pay my car tax in time..!
then the enforcement is working ;)
Over here, they just put a big metal clamps on the wheels so you can move your car. You will have to pay to get the clamps removed.
